THe best would be a teacup yorkie
they loved to be groomed and have a loving personality
and looove kids and anyone
it is a very great choice!

and they are the most adorable little things ever!!!!!
even a regular yorkie is very small that is what i have!

i love yorkies!

I suggest a yorkie. I have one and she is the love of my life (except for my husband of course) and she is so funny and just a pure joy to have. She is very small about 4 1/2 pounds, approximately 10 months old and shouldn’t get any bigger. I got her from a Humane Society rescue and it was the best thing I have ever done.

The people that gave me a thumbs down, obviously never had a yorkie or rescued a dog….

Teacup is a fancy name backyard breeders slap onto runts for an extra buck. There is NO SUCH THING as a teacup ANYTHING.

The smallest dog you can get is Toy, which for many dogs such as the Maltese, Shih-Tzu, Yorkshire Terrier, and Pomeranian, is the only size available. Dogs labeled as “teacup” are generally unhealthy and expensive.

The SMALLEST breed of dog that is REAL, and not a rip off is the Chihuahua. There is NO dog smaller than this dog. Teacup, Micro Mini, etc are all ploys used by greedy and abusive people to make money.

If you want a small dog, look at the dogs that are listed under “Toy” or “Miniature” like the Yorkshire Terrier, Toy Poodle, Maltese, Lhasa Apso, Shih Tzu, etc.

There are no such things as teacups, they are just a fancy name given to undersized dogs of a specific breed.
BTW their are dog BREEDS not dog BREADS.

A word of warning: as puppy millers and BYBers like to make a quick buck out of them, be EXTREMELY careful. Don’t go to puppy selling websites, such as Puppyfinder (NOT to be confused with the excellent Petfinder), Kijiji (aside from listings from reputable rescues), Nextdaypets (should be called the Nextdaypetsintheshelter), Hoobly, or any other classifed ad type site.

There are many toy breed dogs in shelters and breed rescues, and stick to breeders who are a member of a breed club. Run — don’t walk from any breeder breeding untitled, non-health certified dogs and those who breed for “rare” colours or tiny size.

Well, to start, they don’t live as long, and they aren’t healthy dogs. It’s not right that they are bred. And the high demand for them is sickening.

Yep–no such thing. A “teacup chihuahua”, for instance, is just a very small, under the AKC breed standard, dog. Like other writers say here–just a name breeders give to the runt to fetch an extra buck.

I wanted one of these, but than I got ALOT of answers about how I should not get one b/c they’re REALLY unhealthy and die within in 2 years or maybe even less than that! They’re just puppies of two runts and live up to be 2lbs.
They just call them teacups for you to be more intrested in a smaller dog to think its “rare” or something.
I advise you to NOT get one.
They’re sooo cute but so sickly.
