I don't recommend it. But you could try smashed chickens, beef, etc. But don't put chocolate or raisins, ITs Posounious

making your own dog food is not hard and I really do not follow a so called recipe
I give my dog a totally cooked diet, I do not feed raw

My dog eats meat and vegetables ... a variety of meats, and a variety of vegetables -- I avoid all grains! Grains cause too many problems, dogs do not need them

avoiding certain vegetables such as the nightshade vegetables which are white potatoes, green peppers, eggplant, and tomatoes

these vegetables are known to either trigger arthritis or worsen the condition

also there are high and low glycemic vegetables
it is best to feed low glycemic vegetables
here is a site that will help you with that
http://www.b-naturals.com/Jul2005.php

my dog also gets some cooked organ meat, about 10 percent of his diet ... this would be either kidney or liver. I use the organic liver

he also gets some beef heart, a couple of times a week, some canned mackerel, hard boiled eggs, yogurt and cottage cheese are also part of his diet

they can also have fruits , but if you feed fruits give them at least 1 hour before their meal or two hours after their meal
they digest fruits differently and they should not be fed at the same time as their main meal

the one supplement that you will have to add is calcium. If you fed raw you do not have to add this because dogs are getting their calcium from the bones in the meat.

I use eggshell calcium and add 1/2 teaspoon per pound of food

also make sure they get a fish oil every day. They need omega 3 in their diet.

Nope, I don't. I have better things to do with my time than prepare meals for an animal.

I bought celery, beets(they love beets), chicken (grilled), scrambled eggs and radishes. This i cut up and put all together for my dog. After that I give him banana's they love it. At first its odd for them to be chewing because of its texture but they really do like it. Also apples and pears. The beets will give them red urine or red poop sometimes though. Don't worry it helps their bowels move haha.

Please consult with your vet rather than just following recipes you find on this board or elsewhere on the internet. Different breeds and different ages of dogs have different nutritional requirements. You need to have the proper combination of protein, fat, carbs, vitamins and minerals or you may end up doing your dog more harm than good.

let me see... dogs are carnivores, so my best recipe that my dogs like and animal nutritionists suggest is:
-buy some meat
-thaw the meat
-feed it to the dog (it's what their bodies are built to eat, just remember to keep up with dewormings)
(if you are squeamish you can boil the meat before feeding it to Fido)

i once had a dog that loved cooked potatoes, and other vegatables.
They love blocks of cheese (tho that should be given as treats)
usually you can give them a bit of what ur eating like rice, bread, pasta, etc.
sorry i'm not much help - i usually give my dog canned food, though i occasionally feed him some of the above and he loves it!
